Here is another popular costume you might try out this year.  I had a few Barbie’s that I played with as a child, but I was never really that into her and her friends. I was really surprised that my daughter, who shows many of the same interests that I had when I was young, asked me if she could get a Barbie costume.

She had been learning to love to dance by watching the Wiggles. They had a song in their concerts that featured ballet, and she loved this. She watched a DVD at a friend’s house that featured Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses and was enchanted with what she saw. She asked for the dance mat for Christmas, and I thought it was more about the dancing than Barbie, but I’m not really sure any more. One day in the store we saw a Barbie costume that must be from the Dancing Princesses, and because it was on sale, I got it for her.

She has loved that Barbie costume so much that I am sorry I didn’t get it for her sooner. I just had no idea she was that interested. She wears it all of the time, and she even wore the Barbie costume to the grocery store one night.
